Challenge Badges
A friend of mine once joked about about me collecting badges when I was a kid. It was an invented memory. He did not know me then.
These are a collection of some if not all the badges I “earned” when I used to post my rides on Strava. I found them in my archive files. Can’t recall how I came to save them all along with the details. Most likely a python script or similar. I found Strava a bit noisy.
Summary Analysis
Based on my Strava challenge data from January 2013 to April 2019, I completed 154 challenges and managed to meet the goal requirements in each one.
Performance Overview
I consistently surpassed the minimum targets across four main challenge categories: monthly distance challenges (MTS Ride), climbing challenges, Gran Fondo (single ride distance), and time-based challenges.
Distance Results
The monthly distance challenges typically set targets around 777 miles. In July 2017, I rode 1,419.62 miles against a goal of 776.71 miles. July 2016 showed 1,147.32 miles, and February 2015 recorded 1,116.43 miles. Several months reached over 900 miles.
Climbing Results
My climbing challenges showed varied vertical gains. July 2017 recorded 63,719 feet against a 26,247-foot target. January 2016 reached 52,733 feet versus a 13,123-foot goal, and February 2019 recorded 53,703 feet against 24,606 feet required.
Gran Fondo Results
The Gran Fondo challenges tracked my longest single rides. July 2017 recorded 909.26 miles versus a 61.96-mile goal. May 2018 showed 377.88 miles, and September 2015 reached 261.47 miles against a 74.56-mile target. These longer distances aligned with my audax riding.
Time-Based Results
Time-based challenges included the Pearl Izumi Fall Forty in December 2013, where I logged 58.6 hours against a 40-hour goal. The Gore Wear 24 in 24 challenge in April 2019 was completed at the 24-hour target.
